Last week, tiba2 exclassmate Ummi kat INTEC bertanya pada Ummi..
"Iylia, nanti lepas grad apa plan?"
Hmmmm..sekarang ni dah tak de plan. Nak jadi robot kot. Buat benda sama hari2..Kerja kerja kerja..Cukup duit beli rumah, kereta...Ish awat skema sangat plan ni..Haih..Kamu lak?
"Oh, hmm ingat nak jadi cikgu for 2 years,rasa macam nak give back to the societies. Lepas tu baru cari kerja dengan engineering firm and ada lagi la perancangan lain."
....
Lalu Ummi pun terfikir, kenapa perancangan hidup orang berwarna-warni, perancangan Ummi satu kaler je? Betol ke Ummi nak jadi robot camni?
Of course la tak nak. Sebagai khalifah Allah, kita ada banyak tanggungjawab kat muka bumi ni. Kita sebenarnya adalah daie. Kalau bukan kita, siapa lagi? Suatu hari, kita akan berhadapan dengan Allah dan jika ditanya "Apakah yang kita telah lakukan di dunia? Adakah kita berjuang untuk agama Allah?" Apa yang kita nak jawab? Fuhhh cuak...
Oleh itu, Ummi kena baiki perancangan hidup Ummi. Kata orang, jangan pernah takut untuk berimpian asal ia disusuli dengan usaha. Jika kita ikhlas, rezeki itu pasti akan datang. Dan impian Ummi, ingin melahirkan daie yang berkualiti. Ummi kan teringin bukak sekolah =). Mohon doanya ye anak-anak.Tapi, sebelum apa2, kenala baiki diri dulu.
Have you ever thought how lucky you are to be born as a Muslim? Honestly, Ummi didn't really understand the real meaning behind this before. Of course I'm grateful and feel blessed to be born and raised as a Muslim because I have many chances to enter Jannah if I obey Allah swt, but is that all that I have to be grateful for?
Living in the non Muslim country has taught me a lot about what does it means by being a Muslim. I've been surrounded by the non believers who live without guidance. They seem happy but inside they are empty. Drunken and wild, rude and cheap, their lives are filled with none.
Kita sangat beruntung dilahirkan dan dibesarkan dalam suasana Islam. Banyak kawan Ummi kenal di sini yang hidupnya sangat kosong sebab tak ada agama and I feel so sad because they are my friends. They are very nice to me, always be there for me, always entertain me when I feel sad, always help me to adjust with my living here, always try to protect me and yet I can't do anything to help them except for praying. But hidayah belongs to Allah. Let us pray that we all will die in Islam.
Be thankful
Kids, be thankful that we are Muslim,
I've met people who did not know why they were created, I've met people who did not have a purpose of life, I've met people who did not know who they can trust the most, I've met people who did not know who they can hope for when things get bad, I've met people who did not know the best way to find comfort, I've met people who took alcohol to make themselves happy. I really can't imagine myself in any of these situations.
Kids, be thankful we were born as a Muslim.
We were chosen by God to be given the best ni'mah. From the moment we were born, we were blessed with Islam. Since we were young, we know that one day we will go back to Allah. Since we were young, we have the goal to enter Jannah. Since we were young, we have a guidance to follow. Can you imagine living without these blessings?
Kids, be thankful that we pray at least 5 times a day
By praying, we always remember God and make us feel peaceful. By praying we know we have Allah to hope for anything. By praying, we can keep reminding ourselves that we are the slave of Allah swt. By praying, we learn to discipline ourselves and learn to concentrate. By praying, we can connect with God. Can you imagine a day without these peaceful prayers?
Kids, be thankful that whenever we are happy or sad, Allah is with us.
There's so much love in Islam. When the world is against us, we have Allah to turn to. I can't imagine my life without Allah swt. If not Him, who will take care of us? Who will help us when we need the most?
Kids, be thankful that we have the Prophets to follow.
They have set a good example for us so that we become a good person. I can't imagine my life not knowing Prophet Muhammad saw. His amazing character, his friends, his wives, his humor, his sweetness, his warmed life, his journey, his loves to his ummah. Who can be a better role model to us than the Prophet saw?
Kids, be thankful that we have Quran.
Quran is the ease of every pain, the best way to find comfort. The Holy Quran is the source of guidance for mankind. Allah's words are so beautiful that it wipes my tears away. I can't imagine my life without Quran.When the world cast me out and I want to just read, how would I find answers? Where would I look?
Kids, be thankful that we never poison ourselves with alcohol.
Alcohol and pork are the smelliest things I've ever smelt. Khamr hinders a person from the remembrance of Allah and the performance of daily prayers. An alcohol drinker will have a great difficulty in attempting to leave it and it causes many diseases. I am so thankful that Allah has save us from the evils of alcohol.
Oh kids, can you imagine your life without Islam? Because I can't and I don't even want to think.
Allah swt gave us Islam without us asking Him for it, this we hope Allah swt will grant us Paradise when we ask Him for it.
Dari pertama kali Ummi dengar ni, I feel something but I don't know how to describe it. And until now, it is still happening to me. Listen to it, you may feel the same way.
Ok kids, entry kali ni entry orang request but since it is also a good knowledge, I hope you learn something.
So what does Perfectionist means?? Perfectionists are people who are very very obsessed with perfection; they expect things to be complete and flawless. Perfectionists usually will strive so hard to achieve the standard they put on things. I give you an example, a perfectionist usually spend copious amount of time doing a task (selagi tak mencapai standard yang diingini, they won't be satisfied). Sometimes they also expect people around them to be perfect and they get angry when they are not, they hate mistakes and won't allow themselves to make mistakes, they love things in orders and they become stressed when things got messed up, become overly defensive when criticized, overly depressed when experienced failure, and etc etc. Ummi tak cakap being a perfectionist is a bad thing because in fact it is a very very good thing, but, at some level, it can be harmful to you.
OCD(Obseesive Compulsive Disorder)
Perfectionism is a form of OCD. Ummi kasi contoh org yang suffer OCD, they will flush the toilet few times, or lepas die lock pintu die akan cuba untuk lock pintu one more time, suka simpan barang lama sebab takut nak buang maybe die rasa mana tahu one day nak guna benda tu sampai rumah become a store and etc etc.
In Malay, we called OCD as penyakit was-was. Ummi also used to suffer from OCD. I used to repeat my wudu' and prayers until I thought I had it perfect and one day, arwah tokwan realized what I always did and he said "You know what, that is syaitan waswas, next time you wanna make wudu say A'uzubillahiminassyaitanirrajim and recite surah An-Nas before praying"
Resolving waswas issues
1. Ignore syaitan's whispers
Syaitan menggunakan macam-macam cara untuk menggangu manusia dan menimbulkan keraguan adalah salah satunya. Tujuannya, syaitan mahu kita ragu-ragu terhadap diri kita.
And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah . Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.[41:36]
2. Self-confidence
Ini sangat penting.Kalau tak yakin dengan diri, syaitan senang menghasut kita. Some of the ways to build self confidence are by:
-putting trust in God
-develop your skills
-set goals and try to achieve it
-seek righteous companions
-learn from mistakes
3.Make dua
Some of the duas we can make:
-Recite ,أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
-ayat kursi, surah 4 Qul morning and evening, ayatul Qursi
-Recite وَقُلْ رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ * وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ O my Lord ! I seek refuge with you from the suggestions of the Evil Ones. And I seek refuge with You, O my Lord!, lest they should come near me."
[Al-Qur'an 23:97-98]
When perfect isn't good enough
Sometimes,perfectionists expect too much from themselves that they think whatever they do are never good enough.This is a very big issue because as a human we have our own limit and forcing ourselves above our limit can cost health and mental problems. Also, we have to remember people around us are different and try to accept them for who they are.
One thing a perfectionist can do is to aim not for perfection but for excellence just like the concept Ihsan we have in Islam.
Abu Ya’la Shaddad ibn Aus, radiyallahu ‘anhu, reported that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, said: Verily, Allah has enjoined excellence (ihsan) with regard to everything. So, when you kill, kill in a good way; when you slaughter, slaughter in a good way; so everyone of you should sharpen his knife, and let the slaughtered animal die comfortably.”
[Riwayah Muslim]
So how can we achieve excellence?? We need to set standard that we can reach, enjoy every single things we do, be grateful with the outcome, react positively to criticism, and learn from mistakes and failure.

When Ummi decided to write this blog, actually I just wanna tell you kids that I'm just like you. I'm not perfect and I don't expect you to be one. It is fine to make mistakes in our lives but what makes smart and dumb people differ is smart people learn from their mistakes to make them a better person and dumb people will keep doing the same mistakes again and again. Don't be afraid if you see other people are much much much better than you because you can also become one of them as long as you are willing to learn.

Di saat ni Encik V sedang sakit tenat. Dah macam2 Ummi buat, format sudah, kipas2 sudah,belek2 sudah, entah tak tau di mana silapnya. Salah Ummi juga tak jaga baik2.
Putus asa? Jauh sekali. Selagi ada harapan Ummi nak harapan tu kerana Allah selalu bersama orang2 yang berusaha. Nanti kawan2 pulang mungkin boleh mintak tolong tengok-tengokkan Encik V. Selagi ada daya, akan Ummi cuba baiki, cuma harus ingat, ada benda ditakdirkan bukan milik kita. Bagaimana kita akan tahu?
Encik M
Takdir Allah, ada coupon back to school. Harga Encik M dimurahkan $100 dari yang asal. Keliru. Apa harus dibeli yang baru? Bagaimana kalau tiba-tiba Encik V pulih? Ummi sangat memerlukannya untuk membuat kerja2. Adakah rugi jika tak membeli Encik M memandangkan tengah ada discount? Encik M memenuhi kriteria yang Ummi nak cumanya Ummi selesa dengan Encik V. Ummi lebih suka Windows yang dimiliki Encik V dari OS X Lion Encik M. Tapi, firman Allah swt:
Boleh jadi kamu membenci sesuatu, padahal ia amat baik bagimu, dan boleh jadi (pula) kamu menyukai sesuatu,padahal ia amat buruk bagimu; Allah mengetahui sedang kamu tidak mengetahui. (al-Baqarah: 216)
Apa harus Ummi buat?
Syaitan
Bilamana kita diuji, syaitan akan datang menggangu. Saat ini dibisikkan dia ke telinga Ummi "Kau tahu? Semua yang kau sayang akan tinggalkan kau. Tak kisahlah Encik V ke M ke PQRS ke semuanya akan tinggal kau"
Ceh syaitan, tak habis2....
Istikharah
Apa pun yang terjadi, segera kembali pada Tuhan. Mohon petunjuk dariNya. Allah tak kan kecewakan orang yang mencariNya. Tak Akan!!!! Tapi harus bersabar. Firman Allah:
Dan mintalah pertolongan (kepada Allah) dengan sabar dan (mengerjakan) solat. Dan sesungguhnya yang demikian itu sungguh berat, kecuali bagi orang-orang yang khusyuk, (yaitu) orang-orang yang meyakini, bahwa mereka akan menemui Tuhannya, dan bahwa mereka akan kembali kepada-Nya. (Al Baqarah 45-46)
Redha Allah
Sebelum membuat keputusan sama ada menunggu Encik V sembuh atau membeli Encik M, Ummi bertanya diri Ummi sama ada Ummi benar2 memerlukannya. Apa untuk mendapat redha Allah atau sekadar suka2? Hanya untuk membuat kerja sekolah dan menulis blog atau lebih dari itu???
Musyawwarah juga penting. Ummi bertanya pendapat dari orang2 pakar tentang sakit Encik V apa bisa dia sembuh atau apa harus diganti yang baru. Memang tidak ada jawapan yang pasti tapi sedikit sebanyak membantu Ummi melihat keadaan dari perspektif berbeza.
Jangan tinggal daku
Ummi hanya mampu berdoa supaya Allah membantu Ummi dalam setiap hal. Berilah ilham pada Ummi untuk membuat keputusan. Siapa lagi yang boleh Ummi percaya selain Dia. Sungguh manusia itu diuji kerana dia disayangi Allah. Apa Ummi orang yang bertuah?
The slave, if he attains the pleasure of Allah,this means that Allah loves him.
And our Prophet saw swore by Allah
That Allah will not throw someone He loves into the Hellfire
because of this
you have to make sure that there is no greater concern to you than the love of Allah
because if Allah loves you, you are saved
and for Allah to love you
you have to look in the Quran and Sunnah to find what pleases Allah swt

"Tet tett" handphone Ummi berbunyi menandakan mesej diterima. "Mesej sale new year lah tu, " fikir Ummi.Oh, tapi bukan....
"Wade and I are getting married!!!"
Ummi tersenyum. Oh si Avery rupanya. Memang sebelum die grad selalu kami berbincang pasal alam rumah tangga. Tak de la apa pun, dia just tanya Ummi wife responsibilities in Islam, how Muslim get married, how to raise a child in Islamic perspectives, dating in Islam and etc etc although she's not a Muslim. Dia suka belajar tentang Islam walaupun dia anak reverent. Ummi sempat bertemu family die waktu die grad tempoh hari. Sungguh Ummi gembira dengan her wedding news nih.
Well tahun 2012 ni Ummi rasa nak panggil Tahun Nikah. because...tahun ni ramai orang yang Ummi kenal rapat berkahwin. First wedding dalam keluarga belah mama, iaitu your Uncle Shakirin, then wedding Avery, wedding Fatin my best friend,hmm roommate Ummi pun maybe and hmmmmmmmm wedding si fulan fulanah..
Apa pun semoga semua orang berbahagia dengan pasangan masing2. Nak kasi satu lagu lah
Dan Ummi, this year umur Ummi 20++..hihi..meningkat umur semakin banyak tanggungjawab dan Ummi fikir esok lusa mugkin je Allah amik Ummi, so kena prepare dari sekarang. Esok pasti ada, tapi adakah esok ada untuk kita??? Ya Allah, terima kasih kerana memberi peluang untuk aku berubah.
In 5 or 6 months Ummi akan pulang ke tanah air. InsyaAllah. Nervous pun ada. Perancangannya, balik cari kerja, nak gi umrah and nak give something back to the society. Kita merancang Allah yang menentukan. Sesungguhnya Allah adalah sebaik2 perancang. Ummi tak banyak planning sangat tahun ni, maybe sebab Ummi masih serabut. Moga Allah swt permudahkan urusan Ummi. Rindu pada Allah.hmmm
Harapan 2012
Ummi berdoa, berdoa, berdoa dan berdoa semoga keadaan di Palestine bertambah baik. Ummi risau keadaan anak2 di sana. Sebagai Muslim, kita bertanggungjawab membantu saudara2 Muslim kita terutama yang berada di dalam kesusahan.
Rasulullah saw bersabda:
"Tidaklah beriman seseorang dari kalian sehingga dia mencintai untuk saudaranya sebagaimana dia mencintai untuk dirinya sendiri".(Sahih Bukhari)
May Allah raise their level in Jannah. Amin.
Alhamdulillah, penghujung tahun 2011 yang lalu US telah membawa pulang troops mereka yang terakhir. Di atas setiap penderitaan yang warga Palestine ini lalui, Ummi harap ada kesudahan yang baik buat mereka di akhirat kelak. Bantulah mereka apa yang kita mampu, memberi sumbangan, terlibat dalam aktiviti sukarelawan, doa,atau sebagainya. Sungguh mereka itu saudara kita. Palestine in my heart.=)
Harapan untuk diri sendiri? ohhh biarlah rahsia =). Ok ini je.
Lastly, Ummi pun nak luahkan perasaan kat sini.
